Proficiency Testing Provider

 

Deep Metallurgical Services (DMS) is an accredited Proficiency Testing Provider (PTP) by renowned National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratory (NABL), India according to IS017043-2010 vide certificate no PC1045 in metals and alloys.

The programs on Corrosion test parameters (Inter granular corrosion test Practice A & Practice B, Detecting Inter metallic compound in duplex stainless steel, resistance to pitting of duplex stainless steel) and quantitative metallographic tests ( percentage martensite in hardened and tempered steel, percentage ferrite & pearlite in carbon steel, grain size measurement in ferrite and stainless steel, depth of carburizing, volume fraction of delta ferrite) are first time introduced in India.

All programs in mechanical test parameters; tensile test, charpy impact and hardness test are unique. DMS has launched a single PT program each for tensile, charpy impact and hardness test to satisfy and comply with the test requirement of ISO, IS & ASTM methods. The participants need not participate in multiple mechanical test programs to comply with the requirement of various standard and methods. The programs in wet chemical and optical emission spectrometer chemical analysis are useful to check quality control requirement of the participating laboratory.

All PTS are quantitative and simultaneous. PTS have been designed to record the performance of participant in routine test parameters. The participating laboratory would certainly benefit from the elaborate reporting covering all clauses of IS017043-2010. The participant can compare own results with results from other participants keeping the confidentiality as per IS017043-2010.

The management of DMS as PTP is composed of PTP testing program committee chaired by MD, a metallurgist having wide experience in research and development, program manager, quality manager, statistician and technical advisors.
